Roger Dan Rector SUMMERVILLE - Roger Dan Rector, 59, of Summerville, passed away Saturday, July 24, 2021, at Roper Hospital, Charleston, of complications from COVID. Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Friday, July 30, 2021, from 6 o'clock to 8 o'clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home. A service will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2021, at 1 o'clock at Old Fort Baptist Church, 10505 Dorchester Rd., Summerville, SC 29485. Burial will be at Summerville Cemetery at a later date. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Dorchester Paws, 136 Four Paws Lane, Summerville, SC 29483. Roger was born February 6, 1962, in Greenville, SC, son of Bobby G. Rector and Peggy JoAnn Price Rector of Summerville. He was a Logistics Supervisor with the Kion Plant, Summerville for over 35 years. Roger enjoyed the outdoors and fishing. He loved woodworking, cooking but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be sorely missed and loved by all who knew him. Survivors include his parents of Summerville; two brothers: Tommy Rector (Cheryl) of Wilmington, NC, and Eric Rector (Nancy) of Summerville; nieces and nephews: Tiffany Anderson (Jason), Danielle Rector, Jeremy Rector, Ashley Cumbee (Greg), Christopher Rector (Adrienne), Tonya Svensson (Eric) and Hanna Robbins (Micah); and several great-nieces and nephews; close friends: Gary Matthews (Kathy), Tim Feltner, Lynn Mizzell and special mention: Devon Walker. Roger was a great boss. When I started working with him, he was patient, very kind. The best boss I ever had. Hard to believe he is gone.... I was the only female in the warehouse. He always made sure I did not get heavy jobs. I respected him.
