Rodolfo Kabaitan Obituary

Rodolfo Manreal Kabaitan, 86, entered into eternal rest on Monday, March 9, 2026. Born on July 9, 1939, in Ozamis City, Philippines, he was the son of the late Buenaventura Cabaitan and Damiana Manreal.

Rodolfo was a dedicated veteran who served in the United States Navy for 28 years. Rodolfo shared a loving and devoted marriage with his beloved wife, Dorothy Pastor Kabaitan, for 55 years!

Rodolfo earned a culinary degree from Johnson & Wales University and also pursued studies in landscaping. After his military retirement, he worked in security at MUSC in downtown Charleston and later at the Gibbes Museum of Art. Rodolfo had a great love for sports. He was a fan of the New England Patriots and the Boston Celtics and enjoyed watching the boxing matches of Manny Pacquiao. He also enjoyed playing and watching tennis with his family.

He was known for his sharp sense of style, Rodolfo always carried himself with confidence, dignity, and kindness. He took great pride in how he presented himself and was admired by many for being both well-dressed and quick-witted. Above all else, he cherished his family and the time spent with them.

He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy Kabaitan; his children: Genevieve Proctor (Thomas Terzian) and Alexis Lewis (Ryan Lewis); his grandchildren: Stewart Austin Avery (Maricel Avery), Alex Matthew Proctor, and Alena Elisabeth Lewis; his great grandchildren: Anna Sophia Avery, Emily Jade Avery, and Logan Stewart Avery; his brother, Roger M. Kabaitan (Erlinda); as well as numerous beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving son, Rodolfo Pastor Kabaitan, Jr.; his parents; as well as numerous beloved siblings.

A visitation of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, from 11:00am to 12:00pm at St John the Beloved Church. The Funeral Mass will begin at 12:00pm. Burial will immediately follow at Dorchester Memory Gardens.
