Roberta Burton Summerville - Roberta Jean Burton, 85, of Summerville, wife of the late Robert Allen Burton, passed away on Monday, November 7, 2022. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, November 10, 2022 from 6 o'clock to 8 o'clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 11, 2022 at 11 o'clock at Miles Road Baptist Church, 816 Miles Jamison Road, Summerville, SC 29485. Burial to follow at Dorchester Memory Gardens. Roberta was born on March 13, 1937 in Vincennes, IN, daughter of the late Robert and Ada Pearl Nash. She attended Poplar Bluff High School in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, She married her husband Robert on November 12, 1955 and they had four daughters. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, sewing, baking and cooking. She was a member of Miles Road Baptist Church and the widow's group of the church. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister and will be greatly missed. She is survived by: daughters: Patti Johnson (Roy) of Clarksville, TN, Kathy Tibbits, Sandie Joos (David) of Sumter, and Phyllis Burton; seven grandchildren: Steven Johnson, Melissa Fenton (Bryan); Tiffany Olson, T.J. Tibbitts (Jessica), Michael Joos (Kerrie), Amanda Jennings (Randell), Kimberlee Shook; fourteen great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry Nash of Indiana; She was predeceased by her husband, Robert of 60 years, parents, Robert and Ada Pearl Nash and her siblings, Charlotte Sue Hatfield and Thomas Nash.
