Robert Steffen Obituary

Robert Francis Steffen Mt. Pleasant - Robert "Bob" Steffen, 70, of Mt. Pleasant, SC died peacefully in his sleep at home on Thursday, August 17, 2017. He was born on December 16, 1946 in Winona, Minnesota to the late Robert E. Steffen and the late Frances Betty (Savage) Steffen. Bob graduated from Winona State University with a BS degree in Biology and later earned his Master of Arts in Education (Biology) from the Citadel. One of his most cherished accomplishments was earning his Master Captain's License of 100 ton vessels for near coastal waters. Bob enjoyed creating his own recipes to cook for his family. He also enjoyed nature, being outdoors, NASCAR, and his many years spent as an educator at Trident Technical College and Sea School. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. Bob is survived by his wife of 31 years, Cindy Steffen; his brother, Nick Steffen (Denia) of Henderson, NV; and his sister, Lissa Bishop (Mark) of Columbus, IN. He is also survived by several cousins, including Terri Bowman (Mike), to whom he was especially close, of Indianapolis, IN; Toni Savage of Oakland, CA, and Ned Savage, of Memphis, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his three uncles; John Steffen, Frank Savage and Don Savage.
