Robert "Bob" Joseph Owca Seabrook Island, SC - Robert "Bob" Joseph Owca 79, of Seabrook Island, South Carolina, died on August 8, 2022. Born October 9, 1942 in East St. Louis, Illinois, he was a long-time resident of Seabrook Island, South Carolina. Bob was a graduate of Assumption High School and received a Master's Degree in History and Political Science from Southern Illinois University. His career fields included teaching, book publishing and guest services at the Kiawah Island Resort. An avid golfer, he worked for several years at the Osprey and Ocean Course Golf Courses on Kiawah Island. Bob was a passionate fan of the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team and had a great fondness for history, politics, nature and classical music. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Dorothy Owca and a grandson, Tyler Cash. He is survived by his wife, Christine Owca (ne;e Dolan) of Seabrook Island, South Carolina, his daughter, Kimberly (Carlton) Carpenter of Belleville, Illinois, a son, David (Barbara) Owca of Augusta, Georgia, step-daughter, Allison (Eric) Jenkins of Brentwood, Tennessee, stepson, Brad (Jennifer) Cash of Brentwood, Tennessee, a sister, Judith McCann, 15 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather and uncle. Bob was one of the world's great storytellers; his intelligence, wit and appreciation of life will be greatly missed by all whose lives have been touched by him.
