Robert Hardman Obituary

Robert S. Hardman "Bob" MOUNT PLEASANT - Robert S. "Bob" Hardman, 85, of Mount Pleasant, SC, husband of Harriette S. Hardman, died Sunday, December 6, 2009. He was born in Winchester, Kentucky, on November 20, 1924. He served in World War II, in both the Atlantic and Pacific Theatre. After serving in the Merchant Marines he moved to Charleston, SC, and in 1957, he opened his construction business and developed numerous subdivisions and apartment complexes. As a home builder, he built homes over the Tri County Area. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Harriette; two sons, Thomas R. Hardman of Mount Pleasant, SC and Douglas W. Hardman and wife Carol; three grandchildren, Stephen D. Hardman and wife Bailey, Andrew J. Hardman and L. Caroline Hardman; and one great-granddaughter, Teagan L. Hardman all of Johns Island, SC. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at 11:00 a.m., at Bethel United Methodist Church, 57 Pitt St., Charleston, SC 29401. Friends may call at McALISTER-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1520 Rifle Range Rd, Mt. Pleasant, SC, on Tuesday, December 8, 2009, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church or Hibben United Methodist Church in Mt Pleasant, SC.
