Robert Gates Obituary

MSgt Robert Everette Gates, USAF (Ret.) EDISTO ISLAND - MSgt Robert "Bob" Everette Gates, USAF (Ret.), 79, entered into rest Wednesday, March 1, 2023. Robert is the husband of Alice Marie Brazell Gates. They have been married for 60 years. He is the father of Tamela Gates Sneath (David), Cynthia Gates, and Krista Gates Schnabel (Steve). Robert is the grandfather of 23 and great-grandfather of 6. He is the brother of Jesse Morgan Gates (Abbie), Mary Salley (the late Carl), the late Patricia Quattlebaum, and the late George Gates, Jr. Robert is the son of late Mildred Holsonback Gates Nunn and the late George Lawrence Gates. Robert served in the U. S. Air Force as an Aerospace Propulsion Craftsman and retired as a MSgt. He thoroughly enjoyed family, fishing, and grilling. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Legion Post 179 - P.O. Box 80325 Charleston, SC 29416-0325. Funeral Service will be 12 noon, Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at Ft. Jackson National Cemetery, Columbia, SC with full military honors by the U. S. Air Force. Online condolences to the Gate's family at www.blizzardfuneralhome.com.
