The tide recedes, but leaves behind
bright seashells on the sand.
The sun goes down, but gentle warmth
still lingers on the land.
The music stops, yet echoes on
in sweet, soulful refrains.
For every joy that passes,
something beautiful remains.
I will never forget the laughter and joy you brought to my life. You will be missed. You will be remembered.

To the family of Richard Rambert: My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of sadness. My memories of Richard will always be that of a very kind person who reached out to me when I became Assistant Principal at Roosevelt Sr. High School. For all the years we worked together, he was supportive, loved his students and would come into my office many times just to say hello or to tell me something funny. His laugh is unforgettable. His plan was to retire and return home. I'm so happy that he got the chance to enjoy his retirement, his family and his friends and to spend time doing things that he treasured and loved. Rest in Peace Richard.

Richard, Richard, Richard!, is all that I can say. These words that I express will never be the equivalent of how I truly feel. I can recall once when I was in middle school and you came to the church to visit, sitting in the balcony. I asked ShaSha who you were and she said that you were her uncle. I thought okay, that's my family! I liked you right from that moment on. You were so vibrant, full of life and enjoying the service. Many years flashed by, I turned into a woman and you relocated back home. I remember how our relationship grew four years ago. Right after I married, I remember you stopping by the church during the afternoon; sharing your many stories, making me laugh. Your humor could make a dog laugh as my aunt Mariah would say! I always looked forward to you stopping by, every so often looking through the office window to see if I can see you walking through the parking lot. When we went to the 2010 Chef's Feast with Pastor Rivers, I remember you said that we were the hottest duo in the building! We were indeed fabulous! Later, I found out I was pregnant and you would come by to make sure I was eating. I remember saying I forgot to get a snack and you led me right over to Shirley and Jonell's plum tree and told me eat as much as I wanted (and believe me I did)! Our car rides to Wal-Mart, Dollar Tree (you bought Zacchaeus a surprise), and even the Ministry Leader retreat to Collins Park has been going through my mind. Even though I didn't grow up knowing you, our bond IS strong as ever. I have truly seen you grow these past few years. You are the epitome of a missionary! You wore that title well! Lastly, I remember last year when I asked for a short biography to put in the program for our Annual Tea. You were a cast member in the “Glory Train” and wanted me to make sure that it stated you were born a star. A star, indeed you were, that radiated in so many lives! You will be missed and but never forgotten. Now, Star, you will shine from above!
I love you,
Your #1 fan and double cousin
