Rebecca Evelyn Mast MT. PLEASANT - Saturday, April 19th, Rebecca (Evelyn) Mast (Teague), age 85, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, passed away after battling Alzheimer's disease. Evelyn was born in Boone, NC to Bynum and Bina Teague, where she grew up on a 100-acre dairy farm with her 8 siblings. Evelyn married her husband, James Lowell Mast, on September 24, 1960, and moved to Mt. Pleasant, SC, where they raised their 4 children: Randy, Sharon, Timmy, and Karen and 2 granddaughters, Brittany Mast (Taylor) and Tamara Mast (Trainor). Evelyn worked at Texaco service station, Wild Dunes property management and Rexair, where she excelled in sales. She attended Wando Pentecostal Holiness Church in Mt. Pleasant. Evelyn was known for her love of playing the piano/organ and singing along to church hymns, making large family dinners with lots of good food, her hard work ethic and her love for her family and friends. She is survived by her four children, Randy Mast and his wife, Suzanne of Asheville, NC, Sharon Torlay and her husband, Danny of Mt. Pleasant, Timmy Mast and his wife, Karen of Mt. Pleasant and Karen Bostic and her husband, Thomas of Chesapeake, Virginia along with several grandchildren and great- grandchildren; her 4 siblings: Shirley, Eloise, Clair and Jim and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Mast, and sisters, Margret, Lois and Kay and her brother, Wayne. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend the graveside service at Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens on Saturday, May 3rd, at noon.
