Ray Campbell Obituary

Ray Campbell St. George, SC - Ray Myers Wiggins Campbell, 89, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Friday, October 22, 2021 at Roper St. Francis Hospital. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, October 25, 2021 in St. Matthews Baptist Church, 2593 Wire Road, St. George with Rev. Duane Woosley and Rev. Wilton Gleaton officiating. Burial will follow in Limestone Baptist Church, Dorchester. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Behie, Wayne Bulter, David Myers, Eiden Myers, Mark Meyer, and Mike Chestnut. Honorary Pallbearers will be Joshua Gruber, Randy Bair, Charles Wiggins, Richard Myers, Roger Myers, Dean Jackson, and Wendell Harbeson. Friends may call at the residence 131 Deerwood Road, St. George, SC. Ray was born with her twin brother, Ralph, on December 25, 1931. She weighed 3lbs and had to be kept on hot bricks to keep them alive. She has always been a fighter and it started early. She was the daughter of the late Henry David Meyers and Edna Pearl Hilton Myers. She had seven siblings: Ralph Myers, William Myers, Johnny Hilton, O'neal Hilton, Yuri Taylor, Louise Parker, and Alberta Atkins. She married her first love, Jerdon Louis Wiggins, in 1948. They had one very precious daughter, Mary Pearl Wiggins. Ray was widowed in 1958. She met the second love of her life and married Lester Carl Campbell in 1960. She was again widowed in 1995. She is survived by the true love of her life, Mary Pearl Wiggins Pulaski, her much loved son-in-law, Ralph Pulaski, doted on grandchildren, Ryan Pulaski and Ashley Pulaski-Staton and grandson-in-law, Mark Staton. She is also survived by her sister-in-law and best friend, Bernice Wiggins. Family was everything to Ray. She had a dozen nieces and nephews that she doted on and loved. Ray was a seamstress for 30 years. She worked at the senior citizen center for 10 years. She worked in her church her entire life. She taught Sunday School for 50 years. She was WMU director, Training union director, led two women's circle meetings, was on the hostess committee, and taught Vacation Bible School for years. She was the definition of what a Christian woman should be. She would have given anything she could to any one in need. She lived her life with charity and grace. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
