Mount Pleasant Chapel. Paulette was born in Normandy, France on May 14, 1939. She was a survivor of the D-Day invasion, where she hid in the basement of the family church. The bombardment and the destruction of her city was one of her earliest memories which she never forgot. A daughter of the late Paul and Angele Mary, she was also predeceased by two brothers, Gerard and Pierre Mary. She is survived by two sons, Billy (Odette) and Philip (Kim) and four grandchildren, Jeremy, Joshua (Carla), Nicole (Dan) and Michael (Sofi). She is also survived by a nephew and several nieces who still reside in France with their families. Paulette graduated from the Catholic High School in Normandy and attended nursing school. She loved to travel and visited many states and countries with Claude during their retirement years. She was an excellent cook. Everyone raved about her meals, especially the desserts that she baked. She was an avid Clemson fan and always looked forward to football season. She also loved to play games with her grandchildren with dominoes and Mille Bornes being two of their favorites. Paulette will be deeply missed by her family and her new friends she made who resided with her at Merrill Gardens where she had recently moved. Our deepest sympathies to the Escoffier family. We were neighbors for 28 years . We got know know Paulette even better when Grandma Alice moved in with us in 2013 and she and Paulette became friends.

We also took comfort from her annual patriotic letters to the Post and Courier and her concerns when our oldest was serving in the Middle East.

She will be fondly remembered by our family.
