Otis Harris Obituary


HARRIS, Otis Entered into eternal rest on the evening of May 7, 2008, CPO Otis Charles Harris, Sr., U.S. Navy (Ret), husband of Shirley Ann Allen Harris. Residence, Goose Creek, SC. The relatives and friends of Mr. & Mrs. Otis C. Harris are invited to attend the funeral service of the former in All Saints Chapel, Naval Weapons Station, Saturday, May 10, 2008, at three o'clock. Interment will be held in Live Oak Memorial Gardens with Military Honors. Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL on Greenridge Road Friday, between six and eight o'clock. Mr. Harris was born on July 12, 1934 in Glenn Springs, SC, the son of Clement Harris and Elouise Daniel Harris. He served in the U.S. Navy for 23 years and retired from Polaris Missile Base in Goose Creek, SC after 20 years as an inspector. Bowling was a favorite sport he enjoyed. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Harris of Goose Creek, SC; daughters, Mary H. Pulwarty and her husband, Renwick of Savannah, GA and Valarie H. Udeh and her husband Chuk of Charlotte, NC; his son, Otis C. Harris, Jr. and his wife Nicolette of Charlotte, NC; three sisters; one brother; six Grandchildren: Regina, Faith, Chidera, Amara, Kendall and Griffin; and one great-granddaughter, Madison. He was preceded in death by one brother. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to North Carolina Stroke Association, P. O. Box 571002, Winston-Salem, NC 27157-1002.
