Norma B. Weir Hanahan - Norma B. Weir, 92, of Hanahan, SC, beloved widow of Col. Gerald C. Weir passed away peacefully, 18 April, 2017 after a recent illness. The family is respecting her wishes for no funeral, memorial services or flowers. Private interment will be at the VA Cemetery, in Beaufort, SC. ARRANGEMENTS BY J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL. Norma was born at home in Carlisle, IN on 28 July 1924 to Paul and Lucille Bolenbaugh. Mom was known for her ready smile, sense of humor, and love of family, college basketball and dark chocolate. She is survived by her son Charles (Chuck) Weir and wife Joanne of Summerville, SC; grandson Ben Weir and wife Dannielle, great-grandsons Jackson and Parker, all of Portland, OR; grandson Gerry Weir of Portland, OR; daughter Paula Thrower of Charleston, SC; grandson Keith Thrower and wife Melanie, great-granddaughters Kate and Kellen and great-grandsons Harlan and Hampton all of Newberry, SC; son James (Jim) Weir and wife Diane of Maple Grove, MN; granddaughter Stephanie Weir of Staples, MN; daughter Sharon Marchewka and husband Peter of Mt. Pleasant, SC; grandsons Christopher Marchewka of Birmingham, AL and Matthew Marchewka of Charlotte, NC. She is also survived by her dear sister Nancy Lowry and husband Eric of Indianapolis, IN and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Charleston Animal Society, 2455 Remount Road, North Charleston, SC 29406 or Low Country Food Bank, 2864 Azalea Drive, North Charleston, SC 29405, two charities she supported.
