Nikita Pinckney Obituary

Nikita Pinckney ADAMS RUN, SC - Nikita Aron Pinckney of Adams Run, SC, entered into eternal rest October 10, 2025. His viewing will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025, from 6:00pm - 8:00pm, at Murray's Mortuary: Hollywood Chapel (7173 Highway 162, Hollywood, SC 29449). His funeral service will be held at Grace Cathedral (5391 Salters Hill Road, Hollywood, SC 29449) on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 11:00am. Nikita was born August 29, 1963, in Charleston County, to Benjamin and Kathleen Pinckney. He attended the public schools of Charleston County and graduated from Baptist Hill High School in 1981. After graduating high school, he joined the United States Army. After completing basic training at Fort Stewart, Georgia, he was stationed in Germany where he enjoyed being able to travel with the armed forces all over the country. Nikita was a dedicated soldier and served the Army with much pride. He was honorably discharged and soon after found employment with the Charleston Naval Shipyard. He was also employed at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center. His love for his country and his dedication to his job made him a proud veteran. An avid sports fan, he loved playing football and basketball, and he excelled as a standout star on the football team as a center and defensive tackle. His love for the sport carried on well into his adult life as he could always be seen glued to the television whenever any football was on. His favorite player was Tom Brady with the New England Patriots. Nikita was a gentle giant and loved everyone he came into contact with. He greeted everyone with a hug and a big smile, and he wouldn't let you leave until he told you he loved you and asked if you needed anything. He treated people with respect and was willing to lend a hand whenever it was needed. He had a charitable heart and would literally give you the shirt off his back. His faith in God was ever present. He always believed there was a higher power and was quick to profess his love of God with everyone he encountered. He was always willing to share stories of how he overcame adversity because of his strong trust in God. His loving memories will forever be cherished by his children: Natasha Pinckney of Goose Creek, SC, Dominique Pinckney of Moncks Corner, SC, and Madison Hines of Brooklyn, NY. He leaves eight grandchildren: Breanna, Edward, Justin, Kaniya, Jayda, Jayla, London and Loyal. Nikita is also survived by one great-grandchild, Ka'Leyah Skyy. He is also survived by his siblings: Cynthia Pinckney-McDonald of Adams Run, SC, Janet Pinckney-Johnson (TJ) of Mt Pleasant, SC, Benjamin Pinckney, Jr. (Gloria) of Savannah, GA, Tyrone aka Terrance Pinckney of Adams Run, SC, Robert Lee Dent of Philadelphia, PA, and Daisy J. Drayton of Hollywood, SC. Nikita also leaves behind his aunt, Florence Mitchell of Bronx, NY, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. He was a wonderful father, his gentle spirit and love for those he met along the way will always be remembered. He instilled in his children to be loving. His presence will be missed, but his love will continue to shine in our family.
