On behalf of the Society of Air Force Nurses, please know we are also mourning the loss of our friend and colleague, former Captain Nell Duffy. She was a remarkable woman who made a difference in the lives of so many others during her own journey through life. She was a Lifetime member of the Society, and a donation in honor and memory of Nell will be made by the Society to the Military Women's Memorial which stands at the entrance to Arlington National Cemetery. Nell will definitely be missed by many, and she will not be forgotten by the community of Air Force nurses.

Thank you, Nell, for the twenty years you attended the 6:30 AM water fitness class at SAFF setting the bar at the highest mark for participation and marvelous fun with your ‘let’s get it done’ attitude and encouragement to any new member who joined our deep-water class.
Thank you, again, for reminding the class when the water temperature in the pool fell below 80 degrees during the cold, gray, winter months(not too often) that you would be the first to get in the deep end and say: ‘the water is not cold by Massachusetts standards, where I learned to swim, now get on in the pool! '
Did I mention to thank you for reminding many class members who joined under medical advice to assist in the recovery from joint surgery that you would offer encouragement by sharing your success from your four joint replacements, hip (2) and knee (2), stressing to everyone the important role water fitness made in your recovery and telling each one their joints would heal and the water was magic.
We have missed you over the past few months, but you have not been forgotten. You will always be smiling, shining those sparkling blue eyes, and speaking a kind word to all who cross your path. That is how you will be remembered.

Nell was my Perpetual Adoration partner for many years. Prior to my time at Adoration with her, she was my father-in-law's Adoration partner. She was a beautiful lady, inside and out, and always had a welcoming smile and a reverent heart. I have missed her at our Adoration time and know that a choir of angels greeted her in heaven.

Nell was my biggest inspiration. We exercised together for 15+ years at 6:30 in the morning. There was many a morning I got going knowing that Nell would be there with her bright smile and cheery attitude. Her life and accomplishments was grand but what was so special about her was how she enjoy every day of her life and how she brought light and kindness to everyone in her path. I am forever grateful to have been lucky enough to have strolled that path with her.

I am so very sorry to hear of the passing of Nell. We played bridge together for over 50 years! We had so much fun and many laughs over the bridge table. Nell was always very pleasant and I always enjoyed the friendship we had. Nell had a wonderful family who were always very attentive to her. I will miss my friend, Nell. May God give the family peace during the days ahead.
