Dear Irvin Family,

I am in Louisville, Kentucky visiting family and last night we were at my sister, Barbie Tafel Thomas home for a "girls night out" when we heard of Nat's sad news. We all talked about all the fabulous memories the Irvin boys left with us. From snake hunts and capsizing boats at the lake behind your pond to hanging out at the pool literally all summer long, you filled our past with happy memories. I give credit to the Irvin boys for my ability to be able to pick up a snake and not scream to being able to hold my breath forever underwater. These are certainly unique character traits that I would not have had otherwise.... What an incredible family and Nat was very special to all of us.

Please send our condolences to all and hugs to each and every one.

Very sincerely,

Ellen

Dear Irvin family, I feel a terrific sense of sadness and loss with the news of Nat's death. I have so many fond memories of both Nat and the whole Irvin family since he was my first boyfriend. Between the great times at Harmony Landing and dances at KMI the memories came flooding back to me. What a sweet, handsome, athletic person he was and I regret not knowing that he was in Charleston as I was just there in July for the USTA tennis tournament and would have loved to have reconnected. I still have a bracelet that Nat gave me and cherish the times spent with both him and your family. I drove with your Mom and Dad to Eminence, Ky to watch Nat play for KMI, came to your house on Transylvania on numerous occasions, danced the night away to the Parliments in the KMI gym, and took great glee spending hours playing Marco Polo and hanging out by the canteen at the Harmony pool. Other great memories are taking out canoes on the lake behind your house at Harmony and 4th of July's when your Dad and James set off the fireworks on the golf course. I could go on and on but I wanted you to know that throughour all of these years I treasure those memories and the wonderful friendship that I had with Nat. You all are in my thoughts and prayers. We are so sad to hear of the passing of our friend, Nat. He worked for my husband at Firestone and was a very special friend to my husband and myself. Always a smile on his sweet face and a kind word and GREAT HUGS!! We only knew him for little over a year, but his memory will always live in our hearts. I know he is happy to be with his LORD. We will truly miss him all our days. Jammie and Shirley Pappadakes
