Nancy Moore Hesler MT. PLEASANT - Nancy Claire Moore Hesler, wife of Steve Hesler and mother of Christina Hesler Chambers, passed away Sunday, August 25, 2024 in a hospital in San Cristobal, Mexico. Born October 17, 1950 in Charleston, SC, the daughter of John P. Moore and Mary Loretta Dodds Moore, Nancy graduated from Bishop England High School and Clemson University. She was a teacher at Bishop England and also taught in Jacksonville, NC and Miami, FL, helping children with special needs. Nancy also taught meditation and yoga to students at Clemson University. Nancy had an adventurous side and her love of travel took her to many countries all over the world. She always had a great story to share. She was proud to be involved in starting mass in Spanish at Stella Maris. On her dresser, she kept a card which said, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. Love your neighbor as yourself". Nancy played guitar and her favorite song was "Nancy" by Frank Sinatra, which begins with "If I don't see her each day, I miss her..." Nancy was the oldest of nine and took care of her younger siblings. She loved all of her family, cousins, and friends. Surviving family are her husband, Steve, and daughter, Christina. Surviving siblings are Patty Moore Smith (Danny), John Moore, David Moore (Pam), Janet Moore, Marcia Moore Saari (David), Jimmy Moore (Mary Helen), and Molly Moore Lanning (Mark). She was preceded in death by her loving parents and brother, Kevin Moore (Emily). Her surviving aunts are Mary Smith and June Milligan. In addition, she greatly cared for all of her nieces and nephews and their children in her large, loving family. Nancy was also very appreciative of Pastor Scott Hesler (Lori) and Jeff Hesler for their support. The family takes great comfort in knowing that she is with her loving parents and brother, Kevin. We pray that she will live in the glory of God's eternal promise. The family will hold a celebration of life in November. Memorial donations may be made in her honor to Christ our King Catholic Church Remodeling Fund. Visit our guestbook at
