Nancy Fox Obituary

Nancy T. Fox MT. PLEASANT - Nancy Taylor Fox, 86, of Mt. Pleasant, SC passed away on Thursday, April 1, 2010. The relatives and friends of Nancy are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial at Christ Our King Catholic Church on Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. Prayers of Final Commendation and Farewell will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL. Following the service, the family will greet friends at Rodenburg Chapel, Franke at Seaside, 1885 Rifle Range Road, beginning at 11:45 a.m. Mrs. Fox was born January 17, 1924, in Washington, DC, daughter of the late Dr. Charles McEnerney and Christie Cushwa McEnerney. She received her undergraduate degree from Georgetown School of Foreign Service and later a Masters in Fine Arts from American University. Nancy taught Art History at several colleges in the Washington, DC area for many years and exhibited her art works in Italy, Turkey, Belgium, Denmark, China and various cities in the United States. She was married to the late LCDR Alan P. Cusick, USN and later to the late Col. Thomas D. Fox, US Army, former head of counter-intelligence at DIA. She was also active in the Junior League and Florence Crittenton Home while in Washington, DC and was a decendant of Captain James W. Jackson, 6th Brigade, Virginia Militia, the first Confederate Casualty of the Civil War. She is survived by her son, Alan P. Cusick, Jr. and his wife, Shirley of Mt. Pleasant; and her daughter, Christie A. O'Neill of Mt. Pleasant, SC; grandson, Robert O'Neill and his wife, Dr. Lynn of New York City, NY; granddaughter, Nancy Van Horn and her husband, Phil, US State Dept., Kiev, Ukraine and two great-grandsons, Jack and Charlie Van Horn. Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation of South Carolina, 500 Taylor Street, Suite 101, Columbia, SC 28201-3000 or the Society of St. Vincent De Paul, c/o Christ Our King Catholic Church, 1149 Russell Drive, Mt. Nancy's birthday was one day before mine. We always called each other. She was my biggest supporter and knew me my entire life. I have so many wonderful memories of times with her and my family. She will always be a part of my life.
