Miriam Doris Craven Cox JAMES ISLAND - Miriam Doris Craven Cox, 93, of James Island, South Carolina, widow of the late Lawton Eugene Cox Jr., entered into eternal rest Tuesday, June 23, 2023. Her graveside service will be held at Christ-St. Paul's Church Cemetery, 4981 Chapel Rd., Hollywood, SC 29449 at Tuesday, June 27 at 11:00 am with the Reverend Skip Owens officiating. Miriam was born August 26, 1929 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Malachi J. Craven and the late Catherine Driggers Craven. She worked as a Nutritionist with the Clemson Extension Food and Nutrition Program, for many years. She is survived by her sons, Lawton Eugene Cox III (Susan), of Johns Island, SC, Michael Cox (Gayle), of Johns Island, SC, her daughter, Yvonne Mattson, of St. Augustine, FL; her grandchildren, Demal Mattson, III, Caroline Mason, Michael Mattson, Lawton Mattson, Jamie Brown, Maggie Buikema, Caroline Douglas, Madison Ratliff, Elizabeth Ratliff, Alan Dunham; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
