Michael Shaughnessy Obituary

Michael R. Shaughnessy SUMMERVILLE - Michael R. Shaughnessy, 79, of Summerville, SC, formerly of Rutherford, NJ, and Pine Brook, NJ, passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2022. He was the son of the late Sylvia and George Shaughnessy. Beloved husband of Carolyn Shaughnessy. Devoted father of Meagan Thompson and her husband, James, and Michael Shaughnessy and his wife, Crystal. Proud grandfather (P-pop) of Aaliyah and Preston Thompson, Mackenzie, Madison and Michaela Shaughnessy, Ashley Thompson Bell (Cole) and Erin Thompson Shy (Rick), and great-grandfather to Jada Bell and Olivia Shy. He was a long-time member of the Rutherford First-Aid Ambulance Corp. and a lifetime member of The Pine Brook Volunteer Fire Dept. in New Jersey. A graveside service will be 11 AM Friday, at King Solomon Cemetery, 550 Dwas Line Road, Clifton, NJ. Memorial Donations in memory of Michael R. Shaughnessy may be made to the Pine Brook Volunteer Fire Dept., PO Box 204, Pine Brook, NJ 07058, or the Rutherford First-Aid Ambulance Corp, PO Box 217, Rutherford, NJ 07070.
