MJ was a special person. Everybody that met him loved him. No matter how bad he felt he always had a smile on his face. I was one of the lucky few who got to help treat MJ's illness. From the first moment I met him I was touched by his calm charisma. He was always willing to share information about his illness to help others learn. He was famous at MUSC. I know MJ is at peace now. No more struggling for air. Rest in peace. 2 Timothy 4:7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.

MJ you will definitely be missed! If I knew a month ago would be my last time seeing you, I would had hugged you extra tight. This brings tears to my eyes because you are just one of the sweetest person ever. Breathe easy buddy and I will keep your family in my prayers because I know they are missing you just as much as 8 West is.

Mj was like no other friend he was always there for me. Even though we live so far apart we still found time to talk to one anouther. He was an awesome friend. I'm still shocked till this day. I wish we got to meet in person just once. I miss you MJ and I love you with all my heart.❤ mmfwcl

MJ taught me and countless other medical students more than we could have ever imagined. His cheerful attitude and eagerness to help us learn and improve our skills -I will remember MJ for the rest of my life, and know that I'm a better person because of the time I got to spend with him. MJ you can rest easy now it was an honor and a pleasure to be part of your care team when you came to our floor and requested to be under our care! we will miss your smiling face always with a warriors heart and even though you were battling your condition you never complained and always kept looking up! you truly stole my heart. I thank your folks for sharing you with us and all the love you gave thanks for being in my life and thank you for being an inspiration to those who battle each day to live and survive! you took life by the horns and even though your life was short you experienced more in many life times many prayers and much love for those left behind but always in my heart and mind we will see each other one day!

I was his nurse in his final days and saw first hand how he fought until the end. As a testament to his life and how many people he touched, I have never seen a procession of nurses and doctors that came to spend time with him. He was truly loved and had transcended the label of 'patient' to become 'family' to the RN's and doctors of 8 west. When we had 'staff' shirts printed, MJ got one. I will truly miss the little rascal who had become a little brother. It was a pleasure meeting all of his loving family who came from near and far in his final days to spend time with him. To the Rose family, I am sorry that I will not be able to attend in person, but though far away, I will take a moment and send a silent prayer your way. God bless and speed your healing.

We are so sorry to hear about the death of MJ. MJ & my son, Stephen, were fellow patients/friends on 8W at MUSC. They spent a lot of time there lately. They were an extended part of 8 West's family! They would spend time talking to the staff & could often be found at the nurse's station. They shared some of the same interests, like football. They both are CF Warriors! MJ fought a good fight. Breathe easy, MJ.
I know that he will be missed by many, including his extended family at MUSC...staff & fellow CFers!

To Michael's family, my name is Andrea Amann,Michael has been a friend of our family for 8 years,we meet him through my daughters now husband Gage Monroe,him and Gage were best friends,mike came to our house as often as he could we loved Mike he sat here and played xbox with gage it was great to see him laugh and have fun,Gage took me aside and said mom I want you to know Mike took his shirt off,he told me how rare that was,and that meant he was comfortable and felt at home with my family,Michael was a big part of our lives,Michael.Gage,Alaina.Stephanie and my son William all had a great time together,Its never easy saying good bye,We all loved Michael and now he's in the arms of our Lord and savior breathing easy,I wanted you to know how much we enjoyed having him here with my family and how much he meant to us,we will keep you in our prayers, Thank you for having a wonderful son and we Thank God for putting him in our lives. I will miss seeing Michael's smiling face on 7east when he came for visits! He will be greatly missed, and am praying for peace and comfort for all of his family.

Please know that the Chancellor Christian family have been and will continue to be standing in the gap, in prayer and support for you all. May you find comfort in the understanding that Michael is at peace with his Savior now.

MJ, you were one cool Guy. I met you in 2009 when you first came to MUSC Children's, I always looked forward to our treatments , movies, and card games. Even after you went to the Adult Hospital we still remained friends, loved seeing your smile , and hearing you laugh. I know you are in God's Kindom with many other brave Angels,
