My name is Kelly Stewart from Beaufort. I was looking through the obits and notice how young this person was so I read it. I went to matthewdenton.com and my heart has been hurting ever since. I never met this person before but through his videos I felt I was a member of his family. He loved life and the outdoors and wanted to share it and the love of God with everyone. I know your heart is broke and you will never get over the lose you will only learn to live with it each day. I wish I would have known him but I am enjoying the videos he left. He truly loved his family, friends and being at the coast. He makes me laugh. You will be in my prayers. Kelly

Dear Dan and Cassy, My heart goes out to you. I remember Matthew as a bright and charming young boy. After leaving the Low Country I have lived all over the country and just moved to James Island/Charleston in July. When I read the obituary yesterday my heart sunk, realizing that the young man who had been killed on his bicycle just 2 miles from my house was your Matthew. I send you love and condolences. I know nothing will ever ever be able to take his place, but I also know he gave you untold joy for the last 40 years. I will see you soon and give you the hug I cannot give you in writing. Aloha.

I was heart broken to hear about Matt. We met in high school when my class traveled to Beaufort for an interact club meeting. We kept up in college but then life just happens. I have the fondness memories of Matt. Such a kind soul and a warm hearted person that always made you feel welcomed. I truly know he will be missed by all that knew him. Our hearts hurt for you and our prayers go out to you now and always.

He was a wonderful friend and we feel blessed to have known him.
