Mary Larry Obituary

Mary Larry CHARLESTON - Mary Gatgounis Larry, 90, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of William Larry, entered into eternal rest Monday, March 4, 2024. Mary was born October 30, 1933, in Monesson, Pennsylvania, daughter of George Gatgounis and Helen Patrona Gatgounis. She met her beloved husband, Bill, and moved to Charleston. She and Bill owned B&B Liquor Stores and Mary was a constant presence there greeting customers 6 days a week. She was a tireless worker, volunteer and loved her Church: the Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity. She was a member of the Ladies Philoptochos Society, and a leading force in making the Greek Cookbook famous and successful. She was a wise, loving, and amazing leader to her family and will be missed greatly. She is survived by her sister and best friend, Virginia Demetre; many nieces and nephews; grandnieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to The Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity. A memorial message may be sent to the family by visiting our website at www.jhenrystuhr.com.
