Dear Martha, I'm decorating my Christmas tree today and just hung one of the ornaments you gave me. Reminders of you keep popping up and each one brings a smile to my face. I know your Christmas is being spent in heaven and I can only imagine your joy. I miss you my dear friend.

To entire Family:
Just learned thru Class of '56 website that Martha passed away. We were best
friends in school and church through our teenage years and saw Midge (my nickname for her) when she moved back to Charlotte in the 90(s). Last time I spoke with her was last Christmas when she shared she had moved back to Charleston and loved it there once again. I loved her dearly and will treasure our friendship forever. God's speed Midge.

Martha, you now have your "shack" in heaven that you always said you would be happy with but I feel sure it is a mansion. Peaceful you will be forever. I love you and will miss you.

Martha was one of our "Ya Ya's." A group of three or more women whose hearts and souls are joined together by laughter and tears shared through the glorious journey of life. We journeyed together over 50 years and words cannot express how much I will miss her. She was truly a very unique person and I loved her very much. I send my love and comfort to Candy, Leigh, Skipper and all her family.

I love you Memaw! I am so sad to lose you but know you are with the Lord and MK and it gives me peace to know you are in paradise with no pain or suffering. I will always remember you and am honored to be your granddaughter. I thank you for all your love and everything you ever did to me! I inherited your skinny legs as you would call your "baseball bat" legs and I every time someone compliments them I will always think of you and thank you for those amazing genetics! I could go on forever but I won't waste up space. I love you and will dearly miss you!

My best friend,my rock and confidant has gone to a better place. The first person to encourage me to do all the things I am capable to do, she never let me down. She found happiness again when she moved back to Charleston to be near her beloved children. I will miss her more than words can say but I shall never forget her...RIP Mart, I love you!
