Marlin Rogers Obituary

ROGERS, Marlin Marlin P. "Buck" Rogers, 72, of Westfield, died March 27, 2009. He was born April 18, 1936, in Wolcott, IN to Glen and Helen Rogers. Buck faithfully served his country in The United States Navy for 30 years, until retiring in 1973. He then worked as an auctioneer for many years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Westfield, a lifetime member of VFW Post 9773, The U.S. navy Cryptologic Veterans Association, and the Navy Fleet Reserve Association, Branch 130. He is survived by his sister, Caroline Gaby; brother, Melvin "Pete" (Lois) Rogers; step-daughters, Ms. Barbara "Bobbi" Woods, Ms. Kitty Ferguson Allday, Mrs. Raye (Doug) Roth, Mrs. Gayle (Tommy) Lambert, Mrs. Nancy (Bill) Teeple, Mrs. Sharon (Dick) Bundy and other step-children as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Buck was preceded in death by his wives, Ruby (Villeponteaux) Rogers and Virginia (Roe) Rogers and his brothers Milton and Merle Rogers. A memorial service for Buck will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 2, 2009, at the First Baptist Church at 8600 N. College. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until time of service. Final services will be in Bushnell National Cemetery, Florida, on April 25. Arrangements handled by FAMILY FUNERAL CARE, INDIANAPOLIS, IN.
