Mark Dangerfield Obituary

Mark Dale Dangerfield LADSON - Mark was born in Summerville, SC. Parents predeceased, Elizabeth (Liz) & Charlie Wade Dangerfield. Brother to Wanda Clyde, brother-in-law, Mark, Niece, Tiffany, Nephew, Taylor and their extended families. Mark was loved to infinity and beyond by his wife, Susan, son, Zach, who he was so proud of and loved so very much, daughter-in-law, Jo Ann, who he also loved so much, his daughter, Lauren, who was his baby girl and loved to the moon and back, son-in-law, CJ Barnette, his grandchildren, Wyatt, Lizzie his only granddaughter and Andy, words cannot convey how much they were loved. Mark was a great parent and grandparent, who did his best to attend all of their school, sporting events, practices, games & birthdays. He was their biggest fan. Mark was a 3rd generation Master Carpenter. There was nothing he could not build or trim out. He loved to fish in the mountain streams of Chimney Rock, NC. Mark and Zach were volunteer firemen of Chimney Rock, NC & as serious as fires are, you know with Mark there was a lot of fun times. Sliding Rock, NC was another fun and cold-water spot. Mark was a member of the 27th SCVI, Secession Camp#4 & was honored to have been involved with the H. L. Hunley Submarine from the time she was discovered to the time she was brought ashore, to the time of the crew's burial, so many great friendships were made throughout. Mark had one of his proudest moments being involved personally with George Dixon's coffin with his Alabama pallbearers. Mark was involved with the burial of the soldiers that were discovered under the Citadel stadium, & to be involved with the first H. L Hunley crew burial. Mark also worked personally with the H. Hunley Honor Guard to memorialize the demise of all 3 crews at the Warren Lasch Conservation Center. Mark was truly blessed to be able to participate in so many historical events. Mark will be missed terribly & forever by his family and friends. A memorial service with be forthcoming. Visit our guestbook at legacy.com/obituaries/charleston

When I was a young girl my daddy Gene Kelly and Mr. Charlie were best friends. I remember him taking me to Mr. Charlie's shop in the back of their home on Berkeley Circle so many times and playing with Mark in the many piles of sawdust. Those were really fun times. Hold them close in your heart and they will help you through the dark times. May God bless you and your family. I am sure Mark is with Mr. Charlie and Ms. Deedle.
