You probably don't know me but I'm Steve Dunbar's [a co-workers] step daughter. I was in the car with Mr. Steve when he got the call, we were on our way to his mom's house but we turned that car around as fast as we could. I'm so sorry to hear about Mr. Marcus' death.

To Donna and Family, My Heart goes out to all of you!! I was so shocked to hear of your terrible loss. I hope that time will help ease some of your pain and your heart will be filled with wonderful memories of Marcus.

I had the honor and the priviledge of knowing and working with Marcus at M.C.P.D for 6 months in 2005. He was such a kind and quiet young man but as you got to know him, his beautiful spirit and smile would just shine. I am proud to have had the opportunity to know him and I will never forget him. My heartfelt condolences and prayers to family, friends and M.C.P.D. The Lord has embraced our hero Marcus.

As I wife of a fellow officer, My heart breaks for you! I can not fatham the thought of what you are going through. You will all be in our prayers.

although i do not know you, i feel your lose and send you my deepest sympathy. i share something in common with you. i lost my 19 year old son to a murder in Aug, 2006. he was also in trident medical center and we donated his organs through life point. we share a common bond now. losing a child is never easy, probably more difficult when it is unexpected. you will find comfort knowing that Marcus lives on in others. your faith and our awesome God will help you through this. know you are not alone. he is in Gods arms now. may you be blessed and may Gods grace rain down on you. It is with tears in my eyes as I write this. I grew up with Kenny and considered him a good friend.We used to have sunday dinner's together when the children were tiny. Sending deepest sympathies and prayers, love, Lachlan and Susan MacIntosh.

Mr. and Mrs. Stiles,
I was one of Marcus' Academy Classmate from Basic 481. My defensive tactics partner went home early and Marcus became by DT partner, where we remained till we graduated on Dec. 9, 2005. I was the guidon bearer and was asked to be a flag bearer at graduation, Marcus was chosen to carry the american flag, and what a great choice. MArcus was the type officer you could see in the way he carried himself and the way he wore his uniform that he was PROUD, he was PROUD to be serving. I was in shock when I saw Marcus had given his life in the line of duty. I fondly recalled our times at the academy, the numerous carpet burns from the gym floor, and our training with one another, to make us better officers. It was fun times, and I will truly never forget Marcus. I cant imagine what your going through, but my prayers are with you, I recently lost a shift partner (Deputy K. Carper, Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office) on Feb 27, 2007. Kevin was also shot to death by a professinal criminal. The memories of Kevin is what allowed me to get through the times. And again I will remember Marcus and our time at the academy. May God Bless you and keep you. Thank you for your sons service. He will not be forgotten

My sincere sympathy to the Stiles family. I did not know Officer Stiles personally, but I respect and admire him for his public service as a police officer. These men and women are out there every day,risking their lives as Officer Stiles did, trying to protect us. He is now in God's loving care.

Although I didn't know Marcus Stiles I grieve with you because I was a victim of domestic violence. He still made time to answer the call of duty when someone was in need of help. May God bless you.

Dear officer Stiles's Family,

When I heard about Stiles, it broke my heart!! I couldn't believe he was gone, I had just seem him last week!! One memory really stuck out to me though... He and i hung out some at the 2006 Homecoming game at Berkeley High. He kept sending me back to get him coffee. He laughed at me when the other officers made fun of me, but I was so tickled to see him laugh, I couldn't help myself. Even though it was frezzing outside and we all wanted to go home, he stayed there and did his job. He always did his job well too, he was a natural. So, I hope when I become a Police Officer when I graduate that I can be as great at it as Stiles was!!!

I extend my deepest sympathy to the Stiles family. Marcus was a school chum years ago. I will remember him as a great guy and an outgoing person.

To Donna, Kenny, Katie and Victoria; I am so very sorry for your loss of your son and brother, Marcus. Marcus was a very sweet and dedicated young man with a great sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by us all whose lives he touched. Please take comfort in knowing that he is watching over you and will bring smiles to you where now there are tears.

As a Star-Spangled Canadian trying to live the American dream ,I am deeply saddened to hear of Cpl. Stiles passing.

As a fellow born Frederictonian, I am sure that he displayed his cultural diversity and simplicity of human life values in his daily tasks in what should have been a kind and gentle community.

However life's not fair but God is good. It is so sad that many people do not value human life and respect our fellow man and realize that they have families and friends whose lives are now changed forever.

May God touch your lives at this time and know that Cpl. Stiles died in the line of duty doing what he loved.

Markus will greatly be missed. My wife and I worked with him at Cumbie Chevrolet for years. He had a kind heart and was a good person. He is with God now and I'm sure he will be protecting us all. With all our love Jenny and Chuck Thomas.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.

But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;

I am from Moncks Corner and I am saddened to know that something this tragic could happen in our small community. My prayers are with you all.

It is with great sadness that I write this message. I taught Marcus at Garden Creek Elementary School in Fredericton. I remember him as a lovely boy with many good friends; always kind and thoughtful. I remember hearing of his career and being so happy that he had become a policeman because I knew he would be an excellent officer. You are in my prayers.

I didn't know him but I work in the same field with a different agency. Just know he is in a much better place now. May God be with you all in your time of loss.
