"Mac" MacGregor will be greatly missed by family, his fellow Coast Guardsmen, and his many friends. For 40 years he displayed the finest example of leadership and dedication to duty at Coast Guard Base Charleston. His many achievements at the Base are well known but his tremendous impact reached throughout the coastal regions of South Carolina and Georgia. In his early years he traveled by helicopter or small boat to USCG units to make repairs in all kinds of weather. In later years he led teams to complete projects at most of these local units. Throughout his service, he always displayed courage, skill and a determination to do the right thing. He was without question one of the very finest Coast Guardsmen I served with or observed in my Coast Guard career. I loved "Mac" and I will miss him. Captain Jim Ingham, USCG, Ret., former Commander of Group and Base Charleston

My Dad was a great man and a wonderful father. He adored his family and would do anything for us. We talked every day and he always had a joke to tell me. I will miss him terribly!

I just wanted to thank all who have offered their condolences during this difficult time of losing my father. He was indeed a great person and I will cherish the memories the rest of my days.
Also, Patti O'Brien, you were my childhood friend in 1966 at Stiles Point Elementary School. If you use any social media, i.e. Facebook, I would love to add you as my friend. Or you can e-mail me. Only if you would like.
