Luther Shelley Obituary

SHELLEY, Luther GROVER, SC - Luther Bryant Shelley, 85, Grover, SC died Friday July 6, 2007 at the Veterans Victory House in Walterboro. Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Sunday July 8, 2007 in Grover United Methodist Church with Reverends Katherine Bostrom and Wash Belangia officiating. Burial will follow in the Utsey Cemetery. Pallbearers will be James Shieder, Lynwood Shieder, Chase Shieder, James Shelley, G.C. White and John Lewis. Luther was born April 5, 1922 in Mullins, SC a son of the late Lonnie Tate Shelley and Flossie Mae Bryant Shelley. He was a 1939 graduate of Mullins High School and a 1949 graduate of Clemson University and he served in the Army during WW II. He was a retired Program Coordinator for the Farmers Home Administration. He was predeceased by siblings Alene S. White, Lonnie T. Shelley, Jr, Malcolm L. Shelley. Surviving; wife, Mary Ellen Shieder Shelley, Grover; Sons, Allen Bryant (Genny) Shelley, Mt. Pleasant and William Charles (Vonnie) Shelley, Grover, grandchildren, Bryant Shelley, James Shelley, Mt. Pleasant, Letitia Shelley and Elizabeth Shelley, Grover. Memorials may be made to Grover United Methodist Church, 1912 Highway 15, Grover, SC 29447; The Utsey Cemetery, c/o Sharon Milligan, 129 Pappy's Lane, St. George, SC 29477, or The Healing Farm Ministry, PO Box 12810, Charleston, SC 29422.
