Louise Radcliffe Obituary

RADCLIFFE, Louise GREENVILLE, SC - Louise Schoppel Radcliffe, widow of Thomas "Tommy" H. Radcliffe, formerly of North Charleston, SC, died Tuesday, December 2, 2008. Born on October 9, 1924, in Coleman, Florida, she was a daughter of the late Harry D. and Eulalie Murphy Schoppel. She was valedictorian of her graduating class at McClellanville High School. Mrs. Radcliffe was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of North Charleston, where she taught kindergarten, primary Sunday School and sang in the sanctuary choir. She was also a member of Overbrook Baptist Church, in Greenville since 2003. Preceding her in death, in addition to her husband, were her son, Mark Stanley Radcliffe, and her grandson, Craig Walters. Surviving are her two daughters, Barbara Walters and husband Johnnie; and Lynn Hillyer, all of Greenville, SC; a son, Harry Radcliffe and wife Linda, of Alexandria, VA; a sister, Miriam NeSmith and husband, Vernon, of Awendaw, SC; a sister-in-law, Doris Parker, of Ladson, SC; three grandchildren, Michelle Mullis and husband David, of Cumming, GA; Tara Somers and husband Scott, of Greer, SC; and Jennifer Daum and husband Dan, of Palo Alto, CA; five great grandchildren, Garrett, Grace, Gabriel and Anna Claire Mullis, all of Cumming, GA; and Hagan Louise Somers of Greer, SC. She resided at NHC-Greenville for the past two years where she loved her compassionate caregivers. We her family will never forget their many acts of kindness. The family will receive friends Friday, December 5, 2008 from 6-8pm at The Mackey Mortuary, 311 Century Drive. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, December 6, 2008 at 2pm in the Chapel of J. HENRY STUHR, NORTHWOODS, 2180 Greenridge Road, North Charleston, with the Reverend Dale Sutton officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 - 1:45pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery, North Charleston, SC. Flowers are accepted, or memorials may be made to Overbrook Baptist Church, 1705 E. North Street, Greenville, SC 29607.
