I'll always remember the great times with Berle and all the Pye boys on Moultrie Playground...Great times...great memories!

I was very sorry to hear of Berle's passing.I enjoyed watching him play bball at BE.I know he'll be missed by family and friends. Our prayers are with them.

Greta, Jason, Nicholas and Heather -- I was so sad to hear about Berle's death. Berle and your entire family have been in my prayers for a long time now. I will continue to keep you in my heart and prayers. You know how much I adore and love your family. After things settle down, I will have you guys over to my house for dinner, that way there is no kitchen clean up for you guys to have to mess with. Love, prayers and sympathy to you all. I can still hear his laugh when I look back on the many memories I have shared with you all. May he now rest in peace with the Lord. He is now an angel in Heaven watching over you. Knew Berle since high school. Drank with him, partied with him, broke bread with him. He was a true friend. I am sure he will truly be missed. Always treated me right and that's the only way you can judge a man. May God bless and keep him.

So sorry to hear about Berle's passing. I played Basketball against Berle, both graduating in 1964. Really got to know him when we hung around together with Johnnie Myatt, Jerome Ryalls, and others. Great guy. All of his family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Berle and I grew up together in the projects playing baseball. He and all of his brothers were well known in the projects and well known on the baseball fields. He was also one of the few guys I would buy a car from in all of these years. Our thoughts and prayers to his family. Bill & Sara Gunter

I knew Berle the entire 30 years I was in Charleston..He was one of the great
"car guys" and one of the hardest workers I have ever known.

Very sorry to read about Berle. My sympathy goes out to his family. Played with Berle on the BEHS team and it seems like only yesterday he was weaving in and out on the court with that scoop shot he had. He is in my prayers.

Very sorry for your loss. Sorry I won't be able to attend the funeral because we are in New Hampshire but our thoughts are with all of you.

Berle was one of our stars. His toughness on the basketball court and his coolness at the free throw line, especially on the night we won the State Championship made it possible. He is missed.
