Kermit Hudson Obituary

Kermit Trevor Hudson ROUND O, SC - Kermit Trevor Hudson, a rising junior at Charleston Southern University, died Saturday from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Colleton County. He was 20. Trevor was born in Walterboro, May 28, 1994. At an early age he became interested in music and the arts. He became a member of the school chorus at Alston Middle School in Summerville, and later, while attending Colleton County High School, sang in the chorus for four years. Under the direction of Stephanie Drawdy, they traveled to New York and performed at Carnegie Hall. After graduating in 2012, Trevor attended USC Salkehatchie for one year before transferring to Charleston Southern. He was a member of the Concert Singers and the Singing Buccaneers. He was also a member of the Charleston Mens' Chorus, traveling recently to Spain to perform. Religion was important to Trevor, and he was an active member of the First Baptist church of Walterboro. He was heavily involved with the church youth, the adult choir, and had been serving as the interim church organist throughout the past few months. He had also been employed with the Colleton County School District, handling video and audio duties for the high school and recording school board meetings. Trevor was a well-known and respected young man throughout Colleton County and his loss will be greatly felt by the community for years to come. In addition to his mother and step-father, Chris and Jerome Stone of Varnville, he is survived by his grandmother, Sally Smith Hudson; his sister, Dawn Hudson; and his step-brother, A.J. Stone. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Kermit VonLehe Hudson. Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 11:00 in the First Baptist Church of Walterboro, with burial following in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6-8 PM at Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street, Walterboro, which is in charge of arrangements. To the Hudson Family,

I came to know Kermit from him visiting the district office of Colleton County. He was such an awesome young man. He always knew what to say to make me laugh. His smile and his pleasant personality will always be remembered. RIP Kermit we love you but God loves you best.

Trevor, you left us way too soon, but you made such a mark in this world for a 20 year old. I've been remembering all the times you spent at Christians house, going out to eat together and especially the trip to the mountains. We laughed so hard and had the best time. You may be gone but we all have special memories of you that will be with us forever. Please find Christians papa Robert. You will love him and he will love you. Trevor, we will always love you and you will always be with us.
