Owen lived a full life, serving as a physician for over fifty years as a naval officer during the Vietnam war, medical doctor for the Buffalo Bills football team, and pulmonologist with the Buffalo Medical Group. A dedicated Notre Dame University alum (1958), he took great pride in his eldest son's achievement of a Notre Dame MBA degree. My sister, Carolyn Conniff, and I celebrate his life achievements and honor him in his passing.
