I can't believe it's been 14 years since Keris' passing. You are in my heart and prayers especically as it gets closer to the anniversary date of her death.

Dear Hannapel Family,
I just wanted to say I'm so sorry for your loss! I can't imagine what you are going through but you will be in my prayers. You probably won't recognize my name but we lived in your neighborhood in Parker's Landing and I knew Kiki from Dr. Kelley's Orthodontic office when she and Deryn were going through braces. We have moved to Tennessee but our youngest daughter is still in Mt. Pleasant and she told me the news. Again, I am so very sorry for your loss.

I had the pleasure of meeting Kiki when I tried out for the Ultimate Frisbee this past fall... I just wanted to share a story about her with you. I frequently rode to practice with Kiki because honestly, she was hilarious! On one of the last days of tryouts she approached me at practice because she noticed I was a little down and asked me what was up? I replied that I was fine just tired. She immediately saw through me, and told me I was riding with her on the way back to campus. On the way, I told her how much I loved the ultimate team and the girls, but I was struggling because I really missed soccer and wanted to tryout for that club team instead... I felt like I was betraying the ultimate girls. She listened attentively and let me say everything I needed to. Then she gave me a big smile and simply replied: "Try out for soccer, you know you will always be welcome here and you sound like you really owe it to yourself to play again." She knew exactly what I needed to hear. She didn't even know me that well... I did go on to play soccer. But I will never forget that car ride with your daughter and sister. Her kindness and compassion helped me in that brief moment in my life because she took the time to listen. There aren't a lot of people out there like her. She forever touched my heart and without a doubt many other people like me. I speak for all those who's day was simply brightened by her smile. I was truly blessed to have met her.

Dearest family and friends of Kiki,
I unfortunately did not have the pleasure of ever meeting Ms. Hannapel. When I heard of her tragic early departure, I just felt compelled to write. Looking at her picture and as a young woman myself I feel a connection to her; with her friendly and welcoming smile I'm sure we'd have been friends. I know things must be so difficult to comprehend and understand, but never forget God is good and he is now taking great care of Kiki. Thru reading these posts it seems Kiki left quite an impression with everyone she came in contact with.....you will keep her alive by never EVER forgetting the beautiful soul that she was.

Although it's difficult today to see beyond the sorrow, may looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow.
