Katherine Foster Obituary
FOSTER, Katherine Mrs. Katherine Ilderton Foster, 61, of Stonewall Road, Pleasant Hills, Columbia, TN, passed away on August 16 at her home after an extended illness. A memorial service will be conducted Saturday at 3:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Columbia, TN, with Eric Sandusky officiating. Kathy was born in Charleston, SC, the daughter of Robert and Isabel Ilderton of Apache Street in North Charleston. She was a graduate of Chicoro High School. She resided in Charleston, working for Bell South as an operator until she met her husband, Ron, who was stationed in Charleston in the military. They married in 1963 and after a brief stay in Florida where he worked, they moved to Columbia, TN, where they made their home for over 44 years. Kathy and Ron had two children, Cheri and Stephen. In 1973 she dedicated her life to serving Jehovah God and became one of Jehovah's Witnesses. She served Him faithfully until her death. Kathy was known for the caring and concern she had for others. She was always happy and smiling and was never without a joke to tell…even if she was the only one that thought it was funny. You could rely on her to make you smile. She had a laugh that you could never forget and anyone that met her loved her. She was a very loving and caring mother and supportive wife and worked as a secretary for her husband at Foster Construction Company. Kathy is survived by her husband, Ronnie S. Foster; 2 children, Cheryl Foster and Stephen Foster; a daughter-in-law Amy (Brewer) Foster; 2 sisters, Jeannie Frederick of Redlands, CA and Alma La Plante of Goose Creek, SC; and 3 brothers, Norman Ilderton, Lucky Ilderton and Bobby Ilderton, all of Charleston, SC. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to Hospice of the Highland Rim, 1412 Trotwood Ave., Columbia, TN or The Watchtower Society, 25 Columbia Heights, Brookland, NY 11201-2483. WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME IN COLUMBIA is in charge of the arrangements. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.williamsfh.com. Visit our guestbook at www.charleston.net/deaths.
