Judith Swails Obituary

Judith P. Swails MT. PLEASANT - Judith P. Swails, a beloved wife, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on April 25, 2025, in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Born on October 26, 1949, in Charlotte, North Carolina, Judith led a life marked by love, dedication, and a profound commitment to her family. Judith had an impressive 30-year career at South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation, where she was known for her honesty, trustworthiness, and unwavering support for those in need. Her professional life was a testament to her strong character and her desire to make a difference in the lives of others. She was a proud graduate of Moultrie High School, completing her education in 1968 in the Azores, Portugal, before pursuing further studies at Palmer Business College, from which she graduated in 1970. Her intelligence and quick wit were evident to all who knew her, and she carried a deep love for learning throughout her life. Judith's hobbies included playing basketball, softball, and bowling during her high school years. In her leisure time, she enjoyed reading and cross-stitching, activities that illustrated her creative spirit. Above all, she cherished being surrounded by children, finding joy and fulfillment in their laughter and innocence. She is survived by her devoted husband, Lloyd Ronald Swails; her brothers, Eddie Presson (Cindy) and Rusty Presson; her sister, Anne Vehrs; and numerous nieces and nephews who will forever hold her memory dear. Judith was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Susan, and her parents, Charles and Glynna Presson. A graveside service will be held at Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, on May 17, 2025, starting at 1:00 PM. What a beautiful gathering of loved ones for Judy...a testament to her loyalty and friendships her entire life. I forgot to sign the attendees' book, and noted what a rare picture of "Old Mt Pleasant" people were there to honor her.
Judy was one of those smart and kind and unselfish angels in our midst.

I was saddened to learn of the passing of Judy Swails. I counted both Judy and her husband Ronnie as friends for many years, and we shared a number of great times together. I know the Good Lord has a special place reserved for Judy.

Judy was the eldest cousin. I have only one vague memory of seeing her, in person, when I was a young child. But I do have a very vivid memory of her...a large framed, black and white photograph of her that was atop a tall dresser at grandmother Mimi´s farmhouse. And she was beautiful. I used to stare up at it, and just sort of admire her beauty. Prayers that she is at peace now. And my condolences to her family
