The first thing I instantly knew about Joe was that he loved his family so much, and his family loved him back equally. It's a big love that not a lot of families have. I can't imagine the pain you are all feeling but I hope you find comfort in knowing that, while his time was short, he knew he was loved and supported his entire life.

Going to Game 4 of the 2000 Subway Series between the Mets and the Yankees with Joe and his dad. An easy game to remember.. Derek Jeter hit the first pitch of the game over the left filed fence. Other than the first pitch of the game it was exciting just to be there. I think it was so exciting for 4yr old little Joe that he fell asleep a few innings into the game. I remember thinking how remarkable it was he stayed asleep considering he was surrounded by 45,000 screaming New York (Mets and Yankee) fans. At that time he was my little cousin but he quickly grew up and became the best big cousin to my 3 sons. He helped teach them how to play basketball and always looked out for them when he taught their basketball camps.
Goodbye little cousin. Thank you for being such a great role model to my sons. You will be missed and never forgotten.
I love you

I was so sorry to hear of Joseph's death. He was clearly much loved by so many. Joe, I remember having sons born around the same time, and I can only imagine what you and your daughters are experiencing. You'll be in my prayers.

As Samantha Berlin's grandparents, we saw how happy Joe made her. She shared his joy for life and love of laughter. He is gone way too early. We pray that all your years of warm and loving memories will help you find peace.

I only had the chance to meet Joseph a few times, but he (and the whole Wezwick family) was so warm and welcoming. My memories will always be of a funny, charming young man with a beaming smile. It was obvious that he was doted on by the whole family and my thoughts are with them as they attempt to cope with their terrible loss.
