Joseph Stevenot Obituary

Joseph Stevenot HUDSON, OH - The son of the late Cass and Mary Stevenot, Joe was born in San Francisco, CA in 1929. He attended St. Ignatius High School and received an undergraduate degree from the University of San Francisco. Joe was happily married to Martha (Neuman) Stevenot for over 67 years. After serving as an anti-aircraft battery commander in the U.S. Army in the early 1950s, Joe attended graduate school at Stanford University, and received a Masters degree in organic chemistry. From there, he joined his lifelong employer, the Procter & Gamble Company, where he served as a Director of product development. A dedicated father, volunteer, and community leader, Joe held numerous leadership roles in church, school, and civic organizations. A few highlights from Joe's distinguished volunteer service include; Local troop committee chairman in Cincinnati, OH for the Boy Scouts of America in the 1970s and 1980s; Helping coordinate planning and construction for the Our Lady of Mercy Wellness Center, Johns Island, SC; Construction committee member for the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Johns Island, SC (dedicated February 16, 2004); Property owner's association president at Seabrook Island, SC from 2000 - 2001. Joe lived life to the fullest and enjoyed a broad array of interests including; photography, music, history, airplanes, model trains, fly fishing, golf, reading, and sailing. Joe is survived by his wife, Martha, and his six children: Susan Stevenot-Sullivan (Gary), Beverly Danis (Peter), Joseph Stevenot (Lori), Robert Stevenot (Cheri), James Stevenot (Angie) and Theodore Stevenot (Jan). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 25, 2022 at 11:00am at St. Mary Catholic Church, 340 North Main St., Hudson, OH 44236.
