Dear Aunt Peggy and family,

I was so sorry to hear about Uncle Hector. He was always one of my favorite uncles and I have very fond memories of playing with my cousins at your home when I was a little girl.

More "recently", I remember when Uncle Hector was visiting Ct just after Ken and I became engaged. Ken's band was playing at a local club and Uncle Hector, along with a few other relatives, made time to come and hear them play. It was his idea to see the band and I was touched that he was so insistent on coming. We all had such a great time. I will always remember him as he was that night.

You and your family have my deepest sympathies.

Fondly,
Sandy (Arsenault) Melilli

Aunt Peggy and family,

We all are saddened by the passing of Uncle Hector. We have so many wonderful childhood memories of his life.

But the one memory that is most foremost in my mind is the night my own dad died on July 22, 1963 when I had just turned 15 years old and was so frightened of what our lives would be like without a father.

I will never ever forget that Uncle Hector was the very first one at the house, it seemed like he was there almost immediately and he was so comforting to my mom and handed her some money and told her not to worry that everything would be okay.

And at 15 years old, I figured that if Uncle Hector said everything would be okay, it would be.

Of all the memories I have of Uncle Hector through the years, that is my fondest memory of him.

Our sympathies go out to you and Rob, Sandy, Kevin and David and your families.

Sincerely, Elaine from CT

Sandy; my sympathy and prayer go out to you, your mom and the family. I knew Joe from Lycoming in Stratford years before the move to Charleston. Always a professional in his work, easy to work with but never hesitant to speak his mind. We were never close socially but it was my pleasure just to have known him.

I met Joe about 20 years ago when I was a young woman just into cycling. I signed up to go to the Keyes with the Coastal Cyclists not knowing a lot about the sport. I had just gotten a hybrid Trek and thought I was very cool. Joe was so gracious and rode with me from Marathon to Key West. I know he could have left me in his wake and for that I will always be grateful for his patience and generosity.
My thoughts and prayers will be with your family during this difficult time. Godspeed.
