Reverend Dr. Alvin E. Bonaparte, Sr., Officiating. Interment - Highland Memory Gardnes, 1553 Dawson Branch Road, Summerville, SC. A public viewing will be held Friday, August 18, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in Murray's Mortuary - North Charleston Chapel, 4060 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, SC. He was preceded in death by four siblings: Deothie Nesbit, Woodrow Burroughs, Leon Burroughs, and Darlene "Dottie" Kelly; and a brother-in-law, David Cromwell. He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving and devoted, wife, Ruby S. Burroughs of Summerville, SC; his children: Yolande Burroughs of Summerville, SC, Mary Burroughs-Gray (Matthew) of Suffolk, VA, Uticia B. Goodman (Spencer), Ariel Burroughs, and Johnnie Burroughs, Jr., all of Summerville, SC; two brothers: Deacon Sammy Burroughs, Jr. (Barbara) of North Charleston, SC and Harold Burroughs of North Charleston, SC; four sisters: Letha Mae Futrell (Alvin) of Newport News, VA, Ellen Smalls of North Charleston, SC, Loretta Ewing (Walter) of Chesapeake, VA, and Sarah Burroughs of Summerville, SC; grandchildren: Danetra, Aaliyah, Naja, Amira, and Austin; great-grandchildren: Queen, Royal, and Zia; sisters-in-law: Albertha Bolds (Herman) of James Island, SC, Thelma Howard (Douglas) of New York City, NY, and Dorothy Cromwell of James Island, SC; brothers-in-law: Phillip White (Dorothy), William Seabrook, Jr. (Eula), and Theodore Seabrook (Iris) all of James Island, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
