John Reidenbach Obituary

My dear friend Betsy, my heart is saddened by the passing of John. I first found out last night. Johnnie was a great great guy and a terrific husband and father and a cherished old friend. I share your lost. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your boys.

We were so sorry to learn recently of John's passing. The memories of Rhett's performances with CYC, teaching at Stono Park, the "Robot", walking in the morning, the key that you and John gave me to teaching, riding in the Christmas Parade in the motor car like motocycle, long visits and fond memories. All of you are in our prayers at this crossroad. May you find peace in the love of family and strength in the caring words of all of your friends. Please let us know if we can help in any way. Michael, our prayers are with you. The memorial service was very comforting and positive. I told others that I know your father much better now because of the service. In the midst of this tragedy, I feel that I am closer to your whole family and that is what John would have wanted.

"JR" is how I knew him and he was a man of complete integrity, of surpassing loyalty, and of impecable dignity. As a friend he was constant and unfailingly compassionate and giving. As a brother in blue he was an amazing mentor. He possessed a personal warmth which affected everyone he knew. I saw nothing of "JR" but the very best qualities which I hope we all aspire to possess-compassion,professionalism,

I was so sorry to hear about John. Even though I was unable to be with you physically, please know I was there with you in spirit. The news of Johns death brought back so many memories of our time at Stono. John and his robot...that brought back a smile.

I was shocked to read about the passing of John. I can still remember the fun times we had together at Stono Park. I can remember when he came into the schools to visit. I also remeber how you and John took me into your home the first year I started at Stono Park and made me feel so welcome. It doesn't seem like that long ago. I know how hard it is to lose someone so important in your life. I just lost my brother last year in a tragic accident. My thoughts and prayers will be with you all.

Although you don't me personally, I wanted you to know that I have never forgotten the kindness of your husband. About 30 years ago, when he was with the school district, he stopped by the side of Highway 61 to help a young mother in distress. He changed the tire with a smile and put me at ease. What a lovely person!

We are so sorry. John was a good neighbor and he had a good heart.
