I was John´s high school guidance counselor. When he was in the 9th grade I asked him what he wanted to be when his schooling was over. He replied without hesitation that he wanted to be a doctor. And at that time I told him to let me know when he graduated and I would be there. And indeed I was there to see Dr. John Williams Plyler graduate. He was my mother´s doctor.

Dr Plyler was a wonderful, dedicated physician who worked tirelessly to help his patients. He served as a role model for many young physicians to be. I was honored to have known him
