John R. Jesme SUMMERVILLE - John R. Jesme, 81, of Summerville, husband of Lorraine Perry Jesme, died Friday, September 16, 2011 at Hospice Center of Charleston in Mt. Pleasant. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service for Mr. Jesme on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at 4 o'clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home Chapel, 303 S. Main Street, Summerville. A visitation will be held from 3 o'clock until hour of service. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Odyssey Hospice, 5965 Core Ave., #603, North Charleston, SC 29406, Alzheimer's Association, South Carolina Chapter, 4124 Clemson Blvd., Ste. L, Anderson, SC 29621 or Pet Helpers, 1447 Folly Road, Charleston, SC 29412. Mr. Jesme was born August 1, 1930 in Flint, MI, son of the late John Odean Jesme and Lucy Delia Montbrian Jesme. Mr. Jesme was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Scottish Rites of the Valley of the Bay in Michigan. He was in the United States Navy during World War II and Korean Conflict and served on the USS Randall for five years. He retired from Genesis Memorial Hospital in Michigan as Maintenance Supervisor. Survivors, including his wife Lorraine, are one daughter; Ann Marie Turner (Jack) of Florida, one son; John Eric "Joe" Jesme (Teresa) of Schwartz Creek, MI, one sister; Eileen Dunn (Jim) of Michigan, one brother in law; Donald Rowley of Michigan, seven grandchildren of which one he was very close; William Rowland and eleven great grandchildren with one on the way; three step sons; Robert Perry (Maureen) of Charleston, Kenneth Perry (Jeanette) of North Carolina and Larry Perry of Summerville, one step daughter; Linda Perry Bland (Marvin) of North Carolina, eight step grandchildren of which one he was very close; Amanda Caputo (Mark) of Summerville and five step great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife; Martha Jane Wallace Jesme, one baby daughter and daughter; Christine Lee Rowland, one son; William "Bill" Jesme and two sisters; Carolyn Rowley and Nadine Jesme.
