John Cox Obituary

John Cox Moncks Corner - John Paul Cox earned his wings at 2:24pm Saturday, September 25th 2021, where he was welcomed home by his mother (Juanita Jean Cox) and his father (Homer Wallace Cox). John was born in Lancaster, Ohio with his twin brother, (James Cox) on April 9, 1964. John was surrounded by love with a large family, where his legacy will live on and he will be missed by all. John will be survived by many, his wife, Joy Cox, and his two sons, Ryan (Becky) and Matthew Cox. His brothers, and sisters, Dave (Anne) Cox, Ralph (Donna) Cox, Anna Marie Contazonno, Judy Clark, Brenda Castillo (Barry), and James (Billie) Cox. His Uncles, Aunts, and Cousins, Fred Cox, Nancy Culp-Waid, Ronnie (JaNeil) Cox, Shelly (Terry) Haley, Amy (Randy) Flowers, Mark (Tamara) Cox, Jennifer Custer, Lauri (John) McCreay, Brad Clippinger, Scott (Traci) Clippinger, Traci (Eric) Byerly and several nieces and nephews. John was a mirror image to his brother, James, and together they made the team that was referred to as "Jimmy John". Many memories were made together from first moments of childhood, to the last of adulthood. He will be remembered for his excellent imagination and creativity, where his ingenuity came to life. John was a great fabricator and had an elaborate skill set that made him a very handy man and with that he built a life that was truly something to be proud of. John was an accomplished poker player, he was confident in his ability, genuine, caring, and friendly to all who knew him. John will be missed by many from his family to his friends, coworkers, neighbors, and countless people that he crossed paths with throughout his daily routines. He was a special soul who brought smiles, and compassion to touch those around him. Services will not be held locally, but rather will take place in Ohio, where the next family reunion will be dedicated to him. Family will gather there to share the love and beautiful memories that he left in everyone's hearts. Visit our guestbook at legacy.com/obituaries/charleston

I just heard about John! I am shocked, and in disbelief. I worked with him here at the Dept. of State. He was such a nice guy, and a great co-worker. My deepest condolences to his wife, and family. Rest in peace, my friend.
