John Blanton Obituary

John Blanton GOOSE CREEK - John L. Blanton, 87, of Goose Creek, SC, passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2024. Born on June 1, 1937 in Bryson City, NC, he was the son of the late Bonnie Bridges Blanton and the late Robert Blanton. He was a member of Tri-City Baptist Church. He served in the military for 20 years in the US Navy. He worked at Detyens Shipyard, worked on cars, worked the bus ministry for GLBC, and taught Sunday school. He was a soul winner! John is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Don Blanton and Lee Blanton; and his sister, Hazel Laws. John is survived by his wife, Frances Blanton; his son, Ronald Blanton (Amy); his daughter, Debbie Center (Rick); his 6 wonderful grandchildren; and his 6 wonderful great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends for a visitation on Monday, August 19, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. This will be immediately followed by a Funeral Service until 2:00 PM, at Tri-City Baptist Church, 152 Lazy Hill Rd., Moncks Corner, SC 29461. The entombment will be held at Plantation Memorial Gardens, 3345 S. Live Oak Dr., Moncks Corner, SC 29461.
