John Ankeny Obituary

John Charles Ford Ankeny N. CHARLESTON - John Charles Ford Ankeny, born February 23, 1971, passed away Saturday, August 4, after a battle with esophageal cancer. He demonstrated great courage and dignity to the last. He is survived by his father, John Ankeny and step-mother, Ali of North Charleston; mother, Carolyn Ann of NM; wife Annie; and children Savanna, Morgan, Logan, Tyler, Courtney, Sierra, Katie and Emily; sisters and brothers, Ellie, Brandy, Matt and Travis; his many relatives and especially a favorite uncle, Bill Moore of Belton, SC. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Steven. John, was a gentle caring man and a wonderful father to his children. He loved his family and friends very much. He also loved his job at The Palms of Mt. Pleasant and enjoyed a rich personal relationship with the residents. He was an avid outdoorsman and spent innumerable hours at his favorite place, the Owl Hoot Hunt Club, of which he was a charter member. His last request was that his ashes be scattered there. He was an amazing man and will live forever in our hearts. The family wishes to give their thanks to the very special staff at the Charleston Cancer Center and especially Dr. Julia Saylors, for their compassion and care during the last difficult months. Family and friends are invited to The Palms of Mt. Pleasant, 937 Bowman Road, Saturday August 11, between 3 - 5 p.m. for a celebration of John's life. He is living... "In the hearts of those he touched. For nothing is ever lost that was loved so much." I think it's really sad that my dad had to pass away whenever I was just really little and about seven or eight years old I still really miss him and I wish that he could still be here and I wish I was living with him and pop but it's it just seems like he passed away too fast and I never really got to spend time with him. I'm his youngest I'm 14 now and I really love him... I'm sad he's gone

It's hard to
Believe that it just seems just yester day that Savannah was born and that John was married to my best friend in the world! I know that a lot has changed since then and my thoughts and prayers are surly there with his children! John I'll always remember you as the guy that was there for Brenda and yall's girls! I hope that your family and friends remember all the good and the times they had with you and the best you had to offer! I hope to see you again one day on the other side of that gate!

John and the Ankeny family.
I am deeply sadden to have heard about your son's passing, I cannot imagine the pain that you are going through. I did not know your son, but I suspect that if he was anything like you he was respected by everyone he met and was a true friend. Our prayers are with you and his family.

My condolances to John's family. This news was heartbreaking. I prayed for Jesus to wrap his loving arms around all of you tightly so that you may find rest in him. John lives on in Heaven. He is healed and now happier than anyone could ever be, until all that are saved reach Heaven. Ali, I regret I'm unable to attend the celebration of his life due to an important prior commitment with Mom that can't be rescheduled. Please know that my heart, thoughts & prayers are with you all. Love you both dearly.

John, and all of the Ankeny family,
I'm so very sorry to hear of this news. I presume that this is young John; who I still picture in my memory, sitting straddled across the bow of "big" John's Folbot, when the two of them and I floated down the Edisto River, flyfishing and exploring. Time flies by; and I know your pain. Prayers your way.
John, please feel free to contact me by phone or email. Tim
