Jody Davis Obituary

Coach Davis,
Please know that Mrs. Davis and you made a profound difference in my life and I think of you often. I think of you as I teach my three daughters to drive (!!), and I try to emulate Mrs. Davis when they need guidance or a calm, loving counselor. Without Mrs. Davis's encouragement, I would never have aimed as high as I did, I wouldn't have gotten the scholarships that let me attend a great school, and my life would be much smaller. I will keep her and your family in my prayers.

I had the pleasure of knowing Jody since elementary school. We reconnected when we both worked for Charleston County School District. Her dedication to her students resulted in helpful outcomes for them. Jody´s positive energy and genuine smile was contagious to all of those around her. Her eyes sparkled when she spoke of her daughters. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

I have not seen Jody since our senior year I high school that I remember.I tried to reconnect through Facebook several years ago with no luck. Jody was one of my best friends in high school, we dated a couple of times and realized we were better at being best friends.She was so special to me that year and I hope I was to her. She taught me to shag so much fun I was awful but when she got through I was ok. I don´t ever remember her without a smile on her face,everyone loved her particularly the teachers.We stayed in touch the first semester in college. I remember she wrote me a letter telling me "Steve I met the guy I´m going to marry although he doesn´t know it yet he´s a baseball player named Rusty Davis.This is from memory a long time ago so some of this may be wrong.I never talked to her again that I remember.I got in town about 10 days or so ago on a Monday and the first thing I saw was a text from a good friend that said Jody Jordon passed away,I just stared at that text and thought back on our Senior year and how much I loved my friend and have thought of her many times since.I didn´t know Jody in the next part of her life but I can only imagine it was perfect with her husband and kids not perfect but you know what I mean.I wish I had reconnected with her but wasn´t meant to be.RIP my friend.

Rusty, Lindsay, and Jordan... Coach Mac and I are so saddened to hear of your loss of Jody- an amazing, no nonsense, colleague, parent, mother, wife, coundselor and mentor. She was a tremendous asset to Middleton High School and the West Ashley community. Please knows that our thoughts and prayers are with you. May Jody Rest in Eternal Peace.

Jody Davis will always have a special place in my heart. She hired me as a school counselor when I finished The Citadel. I learned so much from her and she taught me the importance of being a student advocate. Her legacy will live forever through her students and all who worked with her.

I loved Jody. She was interning at Middleton, while I was a junior. She was such a nice person, as was her sweet husband, Rusty. I know that her family and friends will miss her.

Ms. Davis, as high school guidance counsellor, you cared about everyone, loved your job, and it showed. You were pivotal in convincing me, aged 15, that if I didn't get things in gear, I would not get into a good university. Bless you and rest in Peace, Ms. Davis.

Jody was 1 of the 1st person I met at Newberry; always full of life!

I have so many wonderful memories of Jody from middle and high school- parties, spend the nights, dances, games, etc. Such a fun loving friend!
Every time I think of Jody, a smile comes over my face. Her love and laughter was infectious!
The world is a little sadder with Jody gone.
Prayers for comfort and peace to her family.

Coach Davis, Patty and I are so saddened and our love and prayers are with you and Jordan and Lindsay. Jody was always so joyful and caring about all of us as students at Middleton...she put for so much effort in so many areas to make our high school years so special! And she was absolutely the greatest coach's wife that we could have! I praise Jesus for the great example of faith that both of you always set for us and I know that she has entered into the Glory of her Lord Jesus! I´m saddened to say that Jody and I had not seen each other in a long time, but she always held a place in my heart. We were practically inseparable in our last years of high school and I was honored to be a bridesmaid in her wedding to Rusty! Our Dads were the best of friends and served as officers on the very first Middleton High School Booster Club!

I´m so very sorry for your loss Rusty, Jordan, and Lindsey! There was nobody like her! She was loved by everyone who ever met her! You and your family will continue to be in my thoughts & prayers! Sending you warm hugs.

My sincere sympathy and prayers

I cheered with Jody at Newberry and we were sisority sisters, too. Vivacious, full of wit and charm and laughter. A true leader who handled things for everyone.!my heart goes out to Donna and those she loved so much. Never did I think I´d be reacquainted with her again here, at this time. Her memory will stay alive as so many adored her. Godspeed......, til we meet again!

Words cannot explain the life lessons as well as counseling lessons that I learned from Jody Davis. She was one of a kind. Coach Rusty and Jody were famous for their kindness and support of all of their students at MHS. Working with Jody at NCHS was one of the highlights of my career. Rest easy Jody. I know you were a firm believer in your religion so may God bless you...

I have so many fond memories of Jody. We grew up together on Peeks Pike in Avondale and shared many happy times. I will be praying for her family during this difficult time. Rest In Peace, dear friend.

I'm sorry for your loss. I have great memories from North Charleston High and many of them include Mrs. Davis (Jody), Coach Davis (Rusty), and Miss Davis (Jordan). I am grateful to have known Mrs. Davis as my guidance counselor and to know what upstanding Christians and people all of you are. You were great examples to me.
