JoAnn Kahler Walden Summerville - JoAnn Kahler Walden, 79, of Summerville, wife of Melvin Gary Walden, passed away on Monday, January 7, 2019 at Life Care Center of Charleston. Family and friends are invited to attend her visitation this evening from 6 o'clock to 8 o'clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at 2 o'clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will follow at Dorchester Memory Gardens, 11000 Dorchester Rd., Summerville, SC 29485. Flowers will be accepted. JoAnn was born on September 17, 1939 in Summerville, SC, daughter of the late John F. and Hattie Varie Kahler. She was a graduate from Summerville High School. She loved cooking and enjoyed all animals. JoAnn was president and CEO at Walden Transportation & J & G Truck Repair, LLC. Survivors including her husband Gary are: two nephews: John F. Kahler, III (Cindy) of Summerville and Chris Kahler (Allison) of Summerville; two nieces: Stephanie Kahler of Summerville and Sherry Ann Johnson (Jeffrey) of Hartsville; four sisters-in-laws: Brenda Kahler of Boiling Springs, Gail Connor (Larry) of Moncks Corner, Marsha Gardner of Winter Park and Ann Kahler; one brother-in-law: Lee Walden of Moncks Corner; 10 nieces and 10 nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers: Herbert Kahler, John F. Kahler, Jr. and George Calvin Kahler; and one sister: Betty Edwards.
