Joan Doris Roberts Sides MT. PLEASANT - Joan Doris Roberts Sides, age 86, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late Ralph Wayne Sides and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. A Funeral Service in her honor is scheduled for Monday, September 8, 2025, at the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel, located at 1494 Mathis Ferry Road, beginning at 1:00 PM. The family invites friends to gather for visitation an hour prior to the service. Following the service, interment will occur at Carolina Memorial Park. Joan was born on July 2, 1939, in North Charleston, South Carolina. She was the cherished daughter of the late John H. Roberts and the late Ena Seal Roberts. A dedicated Registered Nurse beginning in the Roper ER and retiring from MUSC, Joan devoted her life to caring for others, making a significant impact in the healthcare community throughout her career. Joan is survived by her loving family, including three daughters: Debbie (Jeff) Roberts of Mount Pleasant, SC, Tina (Gary) Morris of Mount Pleasant, SC, and Tara Sides (Neil) of Andrews, SC, and her son, Ralph Sides (Tina) of Mount Pleasant, SC; eight grandchildren, Nichole, Brittney, Amber, Ryan, Chris, Zack, Bryce, Maylee; three great-grandchildren, Braxton, Addison, and Grayson; and siblings, Gloria Amerson, Shirley Paige, Richard Roberts, and Robert Roberts. In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her dear husband, Ralph Wayne Sides, and her brothers, John H. Roberts, Jr., and Donald E. Roberts. Memorials may be made to a charity of the Charleston Animal Society, 2455 Remount Rd., North Charleston, SC 29406. Arrangements are by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel.
