To all of you Debruhl's: Thanks so much for the memories that I had with Jess. I was a very young farm credit general manager when he came into my life. At that time he was a regional supervisor for the FICB in Columbia. We went through some very good times and some rough times. He was always consistant and fair to all. We became good friends and he taught me how to drink the worst coffee in the world. Always good for a laugh. May God bless you with many fond memories for you all. An old friend......

Dear Julie, Mrs. DeBruhl, and family,
It has been so long since seeing your father, but as we all know the memories we have of those we love who leave us stay in our hearts forever.
Two interesting events in my life I'll never forget both involved your dad. I remember being invited to your house in Woodland Hills for a New Year's Eve Party. The house was packed with many revelers and as we welcomed in the New Year, we were also watching the Ohio State - Clemson football game. I was standing just a few feet from your father when Woody Hayes grabbed the Clemson player's facemask and punched him! Of course I thought it was kind of funny (as all USC alums would) until I saw your dad's face! If he could have only jumped into the TV set, I think Coach Hayes would have been on HIS back!
I also remember our trip with him to Blackstock to look at a recent purchase of property. He took us into a house that was on the land and (do you remember this?) a hermit had lived in it! He actually walked around the house, reading the journal entries the hermit had written on the wallpaper. I thought it was great that he took the time to stay in the house and read some of the entries with us. . .
I can't imagine how difficult this week has been for you all. I only hope that the happy memories of your father and knowing he is at peace brings you all much comfort. Enjoy the time you have with everyone together this weekend. May God bless you and keep you.
I love you Jules,
